LONDON-- Nigeria's military has alleged that a leak discovered on a pipeline operated by Royal Dutch Shell PLC's (RDSA) Nigerian unit was caused by corrosion.
Oil spills are a common occurrence in Nigeria's oil-rich Niger Delta and have caused significant environmental damage. However, they are most commonly blamed on thieves who tap into pipelines to siphon off oil.
Even in the largest industries in the world the component parts of transporting need to be tested and this opens up potential opportunities for test chambers.
This industry sector offers the potential for sales world-wide. The Siberian Pipelines has been in the development and protection of their pipelines due to the poor state of the pipes themselves and have invested heavily over the past 5 years in Inspection Instruments.
In Venezuela, PDVSA are always looking to update their testing facilities and are users of corrosion test chambers.
Check your own countries pipeline industry and ensure that they do not have the same situation that has happened in Nigeria with Shell.
